How to Handle Cold Weather?
Colder weather definitely hit this past weekend. One morning we actually had a dusting of snow on top of our kayaks. The cooler temperatures certainly are different from the weather we experienced at the beginning of the trip. We could use your help in making sure that we're ready for this wintery weather. What problems should we expect to encounter when paddling and camping in the cold? What are some important things you would want to have with you on a trip in cold weather?

We think you should dress for the weather! Remember to wear you hat, gloves (gloves for paddling, too), toe and hand warmers, warm jackets, etc. Do you have a space blanket for emergencies?

We couldn't tell what you were holding in your hand, Dave. The picture was too small, and we can't get the video clips. Please let us know.

Nolan suggests using a battery operated heating blanket.
Warm, waterproof clothes and gloves.

Get a good 1 quart thermos and make hot soup or cocoa in the morning to have at lunchtime.
